Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II is located on the Tiber river and connects the Ponte district to the Vatican Lungotevere.
Built on a project by the architect Ennio De Rossi in 1886, it was inaugurated only in 1911, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Unification of Italy. It connects the center (Corso Vittorio Emanuele II) with the Borgo district and the Vatican, near the ancient Neroniano bridge and the Sant’Angelo bridge.
